The 88th Commonwealth Tournament 2026

The Commonwealth week, first held in 1928, is the highlight of the Lucifer Golfing Society year. The history of the Society can be found on our website www.lucifergolfingsociety.com

The Lucifer Commonwealth Golf Tournament (LCT26) is open to all amateur male golfers aged 18 or over, belonging to a recognised Golf Club within a Commonwealth Country, Overseas Territories or at the discretion of the Society. Please take note of further conditions of entry details set out below.

2026 Programme

Friday 3rd July – The Lucifers & Australians at The Berkshire Golf Club (Blue Course – Shotgun –  4BBB)

Sunday 5th July – Lucifer Welcome Reception for all Participants and Partners – The Royal Berkshire Hotel (18:30)

Monday 6th July Day 1-Commonwealth Tournament -The Berkshire Golf Club (Red Course)

Tuesday 7th July Day 2 -Commonwealth Tournament -West Hill Golf Club

Wednesday 8th July Commonwealth Dinner Savoy, London (18:00)

Friday 10th July – Lucifers & Rest of the World at Woking Golf Club (4BBB)

Competitions at The Commonwealth Tournament 2026

 Commonwealth Players:

  1. With the highest stableford score at the Berkshire (July 6th)
  2. With the highest stableford score at West Hill (July 7th)
  3. The Commonwealth Trophy will be awarded to the player with the best aggregate stableford score for the two rounds in the Commonwealth Tournament. Holder Alistair Croll from Lake Karrinyup, Australia 

Commonwealth or Lucifer (UK) Players aged over 75:

  1. With the highest stableford score at The Berkshire.
  2. With the highest stableford score at West Hill.
  3. The Douglas Bader Trophy will be awarded to the player with the best aggregate stableford score for the two rounds Holder Chris Austin-Pugh from Lake Karrinyup, Australia.

 UK Lucifers:

  1. Webb Cup will be awarded to the player with the highest stableford score at The Berkshire. Holder Robert Moulsdale Royal St George’s
  2. Victoria Cup will be awarded to the player with the highest stableford score at West Hill. Holder John Newton from Royal St George’s

2026 Programme for Wives and Partners.

Wives and partners are warmly invited, and encouraged, to join in the events surrounding the Commonwealth Tournament. In particular, the Welcome Reception on Sunday 5th July and the black-tie dinner at the Savoy Hotel in London on Wednesday 8th July. There will be an organised visit to RHS Garden Wisley for non-golfing partners on Monday 6th July . Please indicate which events your wife/partner wishes to enter on the initial form.

Friday 10th July. Golf Lucifers & Rest of the World at Woking Golf Club (Commonwealth Scribe)

Application Process

This form is all financial. You are required to buy a “ticket” to enter the Commonwealth Tournament by logging onto our website and going to Matches and Meetings/Commonwealth Week UK Entry Form. Tickets can also be purchased for events taking place before and after the Commonwealth Tournament for the participants and their wives and partners. There are concessions for those who are full members (not reciprocal members) of host clubs. Please make sure you select the correct ticket.

On submitting your entry, you will commit to pay for the events. A payment link will be sent out in April 2026

Tournament Supplementary Information Request

You will be sent a supplementary form to be completed by May 15th, 2026. This form will provide us with essential details to assist in organising the tournament efficiently.

When completing this form, please include:

  • Names of participants
  • Requests for buggies, caddies, or trolleys.
  • Dietary requirements for the Savoy dinner
  • Current handicaps
